3 Tips to get that Saboteur Supporting your Success.
Are you stuck in a rut? frustrated that you keep doing things the same way expecting a different response and you can’t seem to stop. You keep sabotaging yourself.
This saboteur pattern is not just frustrating, it can shut down your prosperity pathway. That is your way of attracting clients and opportunities to make the money you need to support you as you help others on their track. That’s the last thing you want, working hard without reaping the benefits yourself.
It really doesn’t have to be this way. Here are three tips that look your saboteur square in the face and get it working in your favor more often than not.
- Identify your saboteur
Most of us secretly know exactly what our saboteur is, whether we want to admit it or not. For example - I had a client who – just when she got clear on what she need to do next, to support her success- she would start something else, making some silly excuse to justify the new action. What’s yours? Do you jump into the worry that your idea won’t work? Or maybe you go back to the past, remembering the times things you did didn’t work out.
Tip #1 Write down your #1 Saboteur: write everything you can think of. What do you like about it, dislike about it? How does it stop you? How does it serve you? What excuses do you use to keep it going?
- Accept Your Saboteur
It’s funny, but the more you give out about your saboteur, try to change it, wrestle with it, the stronger it gets. This is universal law. The more you resist the more it persists applies. So when you accept your saboteur, the battle is over. Now you reclaim your right to choose. Will I sabotage or will I choose an option that supports me instead? I had a client who had outsourced her saboteur. She was sure her partner was sabotaging her and subsequently her business. I helped her clear the frustration and disappointment she had around him and within weeks she had an opportunity show up that allowed her to progress without thinking. She was really meeting her inner saboteur and it showed up in her partner instead. When we ignore (resist) what’s going on inside – it shows up in our outer reality instead.
Tip # 2 : Make peace with your saboteur – Use the power of forgiveness to release any emotional or energy charge you have around it. Say something like “I forgive you, I release you, I set you free” and then forgive yourself for battling with it for so long.
- Choose what you would like to do instead.
Think about how this saboteur action could work for you? My client could take the inspired action instead of running back to her comfort zone with a host of excuses. You see the truth is 9 times out of 10 your saboteur is a part of you that has just gone out of balance. There is actually nothing wrong. What can happen is that we can be attempting to fix something that isn’t broken, wasting a lot of time energy and money to do so.
Tip # 3 : Give Your Saboteur another Job – If your saboteur is disruptive, use it to disrupt something you want to get rid of. Or if it’s a worrier – ask it “How can I change this worry into a possibility to create what I really want?” Make sense?
What most people don’t know is that we have different saboteurs. It’s not the same for everybody. But we work too hard to “let” our saboteur run our “success” instead of our brilliance.
